Cocker Spaniel

The English Cocker Spaniel is a charming and versatile breed known for its cheerful disposition and long history as a working dog.

Originally bred in Spain during the 1300s, this spaniel served as a skilled hunting and retrieving dog. The breed was later refined in England, where it hunted on wealthy estates. While they may resemble their American Cocker Spaniel cousins, the English Cocker is actually closer genetically to the working dogs of the Field Spaniel and the Springer Spaniel.

The English Cocker Spaniel excels as a family pet. They are inherently happy dogs that thrive on human interaction and are naturally friendly toward children.

They are remarkably adaptable and can happily reside in cities, suburbs, or rural areas. Though they can have high energy, they are manageable with proper exercise. They are also generally welcoming toward strangers and typically get along well with other pets and dogs.
