King Charles Spaniel

King Charles Spaniel

While both are toy spaniels bred for companionship, the King Charles Spaniel (KCS) and the Cavalier King Charles Spaniel (CKCS) differ in energy and specific needs. Think of the KCS as the quiet couch companion and the CKCS as the lively, adaptable friend.

King Charles Spaniel is a quiet, low-energy lapdog known for its friendly nature and suitability for apartment life.

Not suitable as a primary watchdog due to their friendly disposition (though they will bark at visitors). Their stable temperament and intelligence allow them to excel in obedience work and as therapy dogs in hospitals and nursing homes.

Extremely friendly, docile, and typically one of the quietest toy breeds. They prefer the constant company of their family and should not be left alone for extended periods.
