Ralph has some areas where he needs understanding and careful management. He can be anxious around grooming and at the vets, and is frightened by loud noises, including fireworks. He can also become anxious within the home and has been reported to mouth people. There has been one reported bite incident involving a person, which occurred during fireworks, and this will form part of his ongoing assessment.

Ralph also guards his toys, so this will need to be taken into consideration by any potential adopter. He has not been brought up with children and is reported not to be comfortable around children, so his future home will need to reflect this.

He has previously been seen by a behaviourist, and his current behaviour and needs are being looked at carefully by UK Spaniel Rescue before any rehoming decision is made.

Ralph is therefore looking for an experienced home that is prepared to give him time, patience and appropriate management while he settles and continues to learn. His ideal home will need to understand that he is a dog who needs his boundaries respected and who may need support around anxiety and handling.

We are not currently looking for applications based simply on his looks. Our priority is finding the right home for Ralph and ensuring that any placement is appropriate for both Ralph and his future family.
