Celebrating Our Rehomed Spaniels

Every dog we rehome has a story worth celebrating. Here you’ll find the stories of some of our spaniels and the new lives they’ve gone on to enjoy.

Meet Buster

Our UK Spaniel Rescue AmbassaDog

Buster is currently living his best life with his foster dad. He came to us with his brother Rocky, following the sad death of his owner. Rocky has since been adopted by his foster mum which left Rocky on his own until his foster dad got in touch with us and asked if he could foster Buster.

After the usual checks, it was agreed that Buster could go and live with his foster dad until a furever home could be found for him but a few weeks later, his dad contacted us to say that he didn’t want to part with Buster and was there any way he could keep him? Buster was a complicated little man who preferred the company of men so the trustees had a talk about what was best for Buster and agreed that he could go on permanent foster as he was settled and it might not be possible to find him another male only home. His foster dad then asked if Buster could be an ambassador dog for UK Spaniel Rescue. Again, we thought this was a great idea and a plan was worked out for Buster’s care then lo and behold! We lost another foster (the third one in as many rehomings).

The rescue world is crying out for foster carers to provide a stop gap for their dogs but in all honesty, how can we say no to these amazing people who open their homes to dogs to give them their second chance?

And that was how it happened!

Welcome to UK Spaniel Rescue HQ, Buster and Richard!

Our rehomed Spaniels

Every dog who comes into the care of UK Spaniel Rescue has their own story. Some come to us because their circumstances have changed, some because their owners have sadly passed away, and some arrive in heartbreaking circumstances — like Patsy, who was left at a vets to be euthanised.

Whatever the reason they need our help, our aim is always the same: to give them the chance of a happy new life.

Here are just some of the spaniels we’ve helped along the way. We’re delighted to see them settled, happy and enjoying life with their new families, and we wish every one of them — and the families who opened their homes and hearts to them — a lifetime of happiness together.

Ollie

Ollie was the very first Spaniel to be rehomed by UK Spaniel Rescue HQ. After his first groom, he was ready for his new life — and he has settled in beautifully with his new family and new sister, Izzy.

Rocky

Rocky’s foster mum fell in love with him from the moment she assessed him and his brother. When she later asked if she could adopt him, we were delighted to say yes!

Patsy

Little Patsy was another “failed foster”! Her foster mum and dad grew so attached to her that they decided she was staying. She’s now enjoying the best life with her forever family.

Angus

Angus has settled beautifully into his new home. He travelled like a dream, enjoyed exploring the garden and then promptly claimed his new dad’s armchair. We think he may have found his favourite spot!

Kobie

Stunning Kobie is settling beautifully into life with his new family. He’s even had a haircut and is looking very smart! He’s living his best life and enjoying every minute.

Lyra

Lovely Lyra enjoyed a pit stop on her journey to her new home, with a long park walk and a game of tennis ball along the way. She’s now settling into her new life.

Otis

Lovable Otis came to us initially for temporary fostering and eventually needed a new home. We’re delighted to see that he has settled wonderfully and is having a fantastic time with his new family.

Alfie

Alfie came all the way from Scotland and was looked after by Wendy while we found him a new home. He’s now happily settled, enjoying life and getting on brilliantly with his new family and their dogs.

Barney

Handsome Barney has settled happily into his new home — and has even celebrated a birthday with his very own pupcake! We think it’s safe to say that Barney and his new family are very happy together.
