Due to the limited availability of foster carers in certain areas, we are pleased to announce that we are now offering a Foster With a View to Adopt option for most of our dogs.
We know that welcoming a rescue dog into your home is a big decision, and sometimes both you and the dog need a little time to settle in and get to know each other.
Our Foster With a View to Adopt option gives suitable applicants the opportunity to welcome a dog into their home on a fostering basis, with the intention of adopting once everyone is happy that it’s the right match.
How does it work?
You apply for a dog you’re interested in, just as you would through our normal adoption process.
If your application is successful, and the dog is suitable for this arrangement, they can join you in your home as a foster dog.
You’ll have time to help them settle, build a bond and see how they fit into your family and lifestyle.
Once everyone is confident that it’s the right match, the adoption can be finalised.
Why are we introducing this option?
Sadly, a shortage of foster homes in some areas can mean that dogs have to wait longer than we’d like for their chance of a loving home.
By offering Foster With a View to Adopt, we hope to open up more opportunities for our dogs, reduce unnecessary waiting times and help more of them begin their new lives with loving families.
A few important things to remember:
This option will be available for most dogs, but not all, as every dog’s individual needs must come first.
Our usual application, home-check and suitability procedures will still apply.
Fostering with a view to adopt is intended for people who are genuinely considering adoption, rather than those looking for temporary fostering only.
All arrangements will be discussed and agreed upon before a dog is placed.
Every dog deserves the chance to feel safe, loved and part of a family. ❤️
If you’ve been thinking about adopting, this could be the perfect opportunity to take that next step.
